Astronomy - I guess you would say is "The Big Picture"... :-)

Heavenly_Tenants_p18_Ilonka_Karasz.jpg

and it is where we came from... where we are going...

When I look up at the sky and see our daytime Sun (93 million miles away) that gives us light and life, I get misty-eyed in my heart...

When I look up at the Moon and Stars in our nightime sky I get misty-eyed in my soul...

As Carl Sagan has said "We (here on planet Earth) are a mere Pale Blue Dot" in the grand Space and Time of our Universe...

Whenever the daily rush and routine stresses get me tangled up in the low-altitude grind and crush

I take some pause and close my eyes, to feel inward calm and then open my eyes and look up

to see the vast blue sky that lifts me above the clouds to the Big unlimited Yes...

Aurora Borealis over Norway - Time-Lapse Video Magic of our Real Sky

byTor Even Mathisen

Dear Educators,

It is the evening before Thanksgiving: Nova-Ember: Star & Fire: 24, 2010...

and I just checked-in at my "Astronomy Picture of the Day" routine and was led to

http://vimeo.com/16917950

and Wow: "Flowing Auroras: Time-Lapse Photographs Over Norway"

(Of course view it Full Screen and Up the Volume)

by Tor Even Mathisen

It is an HD video with quiet music and whispered singing...

This tells you why the "Ancients" and the "Native Cultures" knew that Nature is alive and holy...

I can't make this stuff up; this is our Sky Dancing... (in "Time-Lapsed" Time Photography)

Presented courtesy of our government: nasa.gov

No drugs needed; show this to your students if you wish...

Giving thanks to you all here at Edutopia.org
